- No prior football experience required!
Time requirements for coaches and what to expect:
- All coaches and assistants 18+ must pass a background check. Junior coaches (under 18 years old) are allowed but must have an adult coach present for practices and games.
- Coaches are invited to attend and assist during the Skills Training/Evaluations.
- Coached must attend the draft to draft your team. Teams are co-ed.
- Lower Level – (2nd /3rd/4th grades)
- Upper Level – (5th/6th/7th grades)
- Practices – Two 1.5 hours/weekly. (Three 1.5 hours/week allowed during the first 2 weeks). – See “Practice Schedule.”
- Games – On Saturdays – See “Game Schedule.” Depending on field space, there are 2 or 3 game sessions.
- Coaches referee opposite games either before or after their game. No experience? That’s okay, we’ll help you learn! – See “Game Schedule.”
- Picture Day – Approx. 1/2 hour. – See “Picture Schedule.”
- Junior Comet Night (During Fall Season) – Approx. 2.5 – 3 hours - This is where all Junior Comet flag football players and coaches attend a Crater High School varsity football game. This is a fun night we really look forward to!
- All coaches and their spouse/partner are invited to the end of season Coaches Dinner. This is our way of saying “thank you” to the coaches and their spouses/partners. It is also where we discuss the season to help improve the next one.
