Kinder Soccer
Registration Information
We are a recreational league composed of volunteers.
Our board members and coaches are all volunteers; none of which receive remuneration. Our programs function thanks to volunteers, and we have not figured out how to manufacture or clone helpers and/or coaches. We have always had excellent community support and we are hoping that continues to give us the ability to serve all those children wishing to participate in one of our programs.
Junior Comet Kinder Soccer Mission Statement
"The Junior Comet Kinder program goal is to positively impact the development of youth soccer in our community. We want to provide soccer opportunities to the youngest players of all differing abilities, and to create a lifelong passion for the sport of soccer with the hope of raising the level of soccer in our city, state, and nation. It is also our goal to support the High School program in Central Point. Bottom line is this: the Junior Comet Kinder program wants to promote a fun, safe, and healthy soccer environment for every child."

Kinder Soccer FAQ’s
When Does The Season Start?
- The Kinder season usually starts two weeks after the older players.
What Is The Cost For Kinder Soccer?
- The cost is $35 per child, per season.
What Equipment Will My Kinder Player Need?
- Size 3 soccer ball (it is best if each player has their own ball for practices, but it is not a requirement).
- JCS soccer jersey is included in the registration fee. Once teams are formed shirts will be ordered and given to the coaches prior to the first game.
- Shin Guards are an absolute requirement. Your child cannot participate in practice or games without them.
- Athletic shorts and soccer socks. The socks must cover the shin guards. Ideally they should go all the way to the knee and/or cover the knee.
- Soccer cleats are preferred, but tennis shoes should be fine at this level of play.
- Water bottle for practice and games.
When Will I Hear From A Coach About Practice?
- You will hear from a coach no later than the first week prior to the first game. There is usually at least one practice before the first game.
What Time Is Practice and Where Is It?
- Practice location and times will be determined by the coach. Since we are a 100% volunteer-run organization, the volunteer coach will schedule practices based on their availability. Practices for Kinder players will be once a week for one hour. If you are interested in coaching, please get in touch with me.
When & Where Are The Games Played?
- Games are played on Saturdays at Mae Richardson Elementary. Games start at 8:30AM and end in the afternoon depending on how many teams we end up with. The games consist of two 15 minute halves with a 5 minute half time.
What Are The Age Restrictions For Kinder?
- Generally speaking this program is for Kindergartners. Players need to be at least 5 years old prior to the start of the season. HOWEVER, exceptions are granted on a case by case basis. If your child is younger, but you think they can play, or your child is older, but you think they are not ready to play with the older teams; please contact me directly. The best way to contact me is by email.
How Are Players Assigned To Teams?
- There is no set way players are assigned for Kinder soccer. We do try to have 3 boys and 3 girls on each team, but it doesn’t always work out that way.
